In recent years, the Comfort Fund had a major fundraising drive towards the purchase of a wheelchair-accessible minibus. This minibus has been a great addition to the hospital, allowing staff to bring residents on trips near and far. This week alone has seen residents visit Mullaghmore, Strandhill and a special trip to the Showgrounds to watch Sligo Rovers play a European game… residents really made the most of this nice weather! Funds raised through the Comfort Fund are also used to purchase teas, coffees, lunch, cakes, and ice-creams for our residents on trips like these.
